SHANTZ, BECAME AN IMPORTANT FIGURE IN THE RISE OF THE IVORY BUTTON BUSINESS, WHICH DOMINATED THE INDUSTRY IN THE LATE NINETEENTH AND EARLY TWENTIETH CENTURY BOTH IN ROCHESTER AND NATIONALLY.
