English: Resplendent LNER locomotives at York, 1939
Seen outside York North Locomotive Depot (now the National Railway Museum), and evidently recently repaired and repainted, at the beginning of WW2 in September 1939, we see Gresley K3 2-6-0 No. 1387 (built 10/29, 1946 No. 1880 then 61880, withdrawn 9/62) in front of D49/2 'Hunt' 4-4-0 No. 247 'The Blankney' (built 7/32, 1946 No. 2741 then 62741, withdrawn 10/58).
