English: Red army soldier statue which stood below the Liberation Monument (Szabadság szobor) at the top of the Gellért Hill (Gellért-hegy) of Budapest. The 6 meter hight bronze soldier, with clenched fist while his right hand holds a flag, was part of the Liberation Monument on Gellért Hill, the highest place in Budapest. It was erected in 1947 to commemorate Hungary's liberation from the Nazis and the fallen soviet soldiers. During the national uprising in 1956 the original soviet soldier was destroyed but two years later a new copy of the soldier satue was replaced again to the monument. After the fall of Communism, the new soviet soldier was removed again from the monument and now stands in the Memento Park.
Deutsch: Der Rote Armee Soldat stand unter dem Befreiungsdenkmal (Szabadság szobor), an der Spitze des Hügels Gellértberg (Gellért-hegy) von Budapest. Der 6 meter höhe bronze Soldat, mit geballter faust während mit seiner rechten Hand eine Flagge hält, war Teil des Befreiungsdenkmals auf dem Gellértberg, das höchste Ort in Budapest. Errichtet wurde es im Jahre 1947 zum Gedenken an die Befreiung von den Nazis und die im Krieg gefallenen sowjetischen Soldaten. Während des Volksaufstands von 1956 wurde der sowjetische Soldat zerstört doch zwei Jahre später eine neue Kopie der Satue wurde wieder neben dem Denkmal gelegt. Nach dem Zusammenbruch des Kommunismus, der neuen sowjetischen Soldaten wurde von dem Denkmal wieder entfernt und steht nun in der Memento Park oder Szoborpark.

Le soldat de 6 mètre d'hauteur, de poing serré et avec sa main droite qui tient un drapeau, a été une partie de la statue de la liberté (Szabadság szobor) à Gellért-hegy, la plus haute place à Budapest. Il a été érigé en 1947 pour commémorer la libération de la Hongrie et les soldats soviétiques morts pendant la guerre. Au cours du soulèvement national en 1956, l'original soldat soviétique a été détruite, mais deux ans plus tard, une nouvelle copie du soldat a été placé de nouveau à côté du monument. Après la chute du communisme, le nouveau soldat soviétique a été de nouveau supprimé du monument et se trouve maintenant dans le Parc Memento. |

en: Memento Park is an open air museum in Budapest, dedicated to monumental statues from Hungary's Communist period (1949-1989). There are statues of Lenin, Marx, and Engels, as well as Hungarian Communist leaders such as Béla Kun, Endre Ságvári, or Árpád Szakasits. The park was designed by Hungarian architect, Akos Eleod, who won the competition announced by the Budapest General Assembly (Fővárosi Közgyűlés) in 1991.
de: Der Szoborpark (Statuenpark; auch Memento Park) befindet sich im Südwesten der ungarischen Hauptstadt Budapest. Er wurde 1993 eröffnet und umfasst eine von Akos Eleöd gestaltete Sammlung von Denkmälern aus der Zeit des Realsozialismus.
ru: Парк «Мементо» — музей в Будапеште, созданный по проекту Акоша Элееда и открывшийся в 1993 году. Основную часть парка занимает собрание скульптур социалистического периода истории Венгрии общей численностью в 40 экспонатов. Большая часть этих скульптур была демонтирована в 1989 году и свезена в парк, где был создан музей под открытым небом.
