Deutsch: Naturschutzgebiet „Randecker Maar mit Zipfelbachschlucht“, Schwäbische Alb. Durch erosive Rückverlagerung des Albtraufs über Jahrmillionen wurde die Caldera des Vulkan-Maars im jüngeren Pleistozän so angeschnitten dass der Maarsee auslief. Danach wurden in dem Krater zahlreiche, zum Teil sehr gut erhaltene, Fossilien pflanzlicher und tierischer Herkunft gefunden. Die Unternaturschutzstellung dient der Erhaltung des Maars in seiner ursprünglichen Form wegen seiner Bedeutung für die Wissenschaft und seines hohen Wertes für das Landschaftsbild. Die nach dem Anschneiden entstandene Schlucht wurde vom Zipfelbach durch rückschreitende Erosion entwickelt, Hier gedeiht noch eine typische Schluchtflora und -fauna.
Das Randecker Maar ist ein Vulkankrater vom Typ "Schwäbischer Vulkan" aus dem Ober-Miozän. English: Naturschutzgebiet „Randecker Maar mit Zipfelbachschlucht“. The Randecker Maar used to be a crater lake. The erosive reverse move of the Alb plateau cut the crater in Pleistocene, openening it and emptying the lake. The remaining ground turned out to be a very rich site of fossils in exceptional good state of preservation. Over time the drainage of several karst springs formed a sinking creek with a valuable fauna and flora The crater is one of the volcanos within the Urach-Kirchheimer Vulkangebiet]]. It is a valuable Geotope. |
