English: Bit of a cheat adding this as the pic for 31 July, as we believe that the original photo was taken long before 1943, but this copy was certainly produced on 31 July 1943! It was ordered by a Mr John Gorry, of Derrykearn, Abbeyleix, Co. Laois.
While this is a great shot, it's a shame that the railway workers are obscuring most of the details of the engine. Even with that problem, abandoned railways says:
"With the open cab design, this is pre turn of the century. Common design for 1880-90"
