Stema comunei Tomnatic, potrivit anexei nr. 1.4, se compune dintr-un scut triunghiular cu marginile rotunjite. Scutul are două cartiere separate de o bară îngustă în formă de fulger cu trei trepte de argint. Cartierul dextra, pe fond negru, este mobilat cu un nor din argint şi şase picături din aur, dispuse 3: 2: 1. În cartierul senestra, pe fond verde, este plasat un ciorchine de strugure cu frunză de aur. Scutul este timbrat de o coroană murală de argint cu un turn crenelat.

Semnificaţiile elementelor însumate

Construirea primului grup de case la întemeierea comunei de către coloniştii germani a fost îngreunată de ploi şi furtuni, care au durat tot sezonul, fapt marcat de norul şi picăturile de ploaie. Fulgerul şi ploaia sunt elemente preluate din vechea pecete a localităţii. Negrul simbolizează cerul întunecat al furtunii de toamnă, iar verdele renaşterea naturii, dar şi roadele toamnei reprezentate prin ciorchinele de strugure. Coroana murală cu un turn crenelat semnifică faptul că localitatea are rangul de comună.
