| Description | On May 1, 2012, the first of 28 new work locomotives[1] was delivered to MTA New York City Transit. The agency maintains a fleet of 62 diesel-electric locomotives that haul work trains and pumping equipment into sections of track where power to the third rail has been turned off to facilitate capital construction, maintenance work or repair damage.
