During 1912 and 1913, 159,859 tons of ore were producedfrom this mine, but in July, 1913, all operations ceased.91 The propertyremained idle during 1914, but in January, 1915, the lease of the IroquoisCompany was assigned to the Inland Steel Company, who decided to stripthe western part of the ore body. Stripping operations were commencedin the spring of 1915 and were continued during the summer, remarkablyrapid progress being made.
