Description |
This image is derived from two of Peter Lely’s most celebrated court paintings, Louise de Kéroualle as a Shepherdess and Mary of Modena, Duchess of York. Mrs. Walkey, though represented in the guise of a shepherdess, like Louise de Kéroualle, here caresses a dog rather than a sheep. |
