View SE, towards Bridgend, Cardiff etc.; ex-GWR South Wales main line. The 11.55 Paddington - Pembroke Dock and Milford Haven is headed by 'Castle' 4-6-0 No. 5080 'Defiant' (built 5/39 as 'Ogmore Castle', renamed 1/41, withdrawn 4/63). It was recovered from Barry Scrapyard and restored to working order at the Birmingham Railway Museum, Tyseley, from which it worked Specials on many lines until 1997: it is now on static display at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, Quainton Road.
