Description
English: Cropped portrait to use as placeholder for painting of Pieter Bor Christiaensz (1559-1635). The engraving was made after the portrait (burned in 1864) and published in the first volume of his book, The Origin of the Dutch Wars, dated 1634, with a poem in Dutch by Samuel Ampzing after the portrait by Frans Hals (lost in a fire in the Museum Boymans in 1864).
