Español: Caricatura del compositor Pergolesi por Pier Leone Ghezzi Italiano: Riproduzione di uno dei due schizzi caricaturali disegnati da Pier Leone Ghezzi, "gli unici due ritratti autentici a noi pervenuti del musicista. I tratti marcati del volto sono assai lontani dalle successive idealizzazioni: si nota inoltre un'accentuata anchilosi della gamba sinistra, segno di una probabile pregressa poliomielite, mentre dalla didascalia si apprende che questa menomazione «lo faceva andar zoppo»" (F. Dorsi e G. Rausa, Storia dell'opera italiana, Torino, Paravia, 2000, pp. 126 e 127). Nella didascalia si legge anche: «Signor Pergolese, compositore di musica napoletano, il quale è bravo assai et è morto in Napoli il dì 7 febbr. 1736…». |
