English: Paul H. Kreibohm, captain of the Red Star oceanliner SS Kroonland, c. 1913.

Captain Kreibohm was in command of Kroonland when she came to the aid of the burning SS Volturno in October 1913. Kroonland rescued 89 of Volturno's passengers and crew. Kriebohm received the U.S. Congressional Gold Medal and the British Sea Gallantry Medal for his actions.

The photo probably dates from the era of the Volturno rescue.

The original glass negative has suffered from serious deterioration. (See below for un-retouched version.)
