English: This image shows an outcrop of andesite of the Paliza Canyon Formation near the south rim of the Valles caldera, New Mexico, USA. The Paliza Canyon Formation is the largest formation of the Keres Group and its original volume was over half the volume of the pre-caldera Jemez volcanic field. The formation was erupted between 14 and 7 million years ago.
