English: This picture shows a sample of pure phosphorus triiodide. The amount is approximately 25 grams. This compound is extremely air-sensitive and only can be kept around in a completely sealed ampoule. Traces of water decompose this compound.
Nederlands: Deze foto laat een sample zien van zuiver fosfortrijodide. De getoonde hoeveelheid is ongeveer 25 gram. Deze stof is bijzonder gevoelig voor vocht in de lucht en kan alleen voor langere tijd bewaard worden in volledig afgesloten ampullen. Sporen van water zorgen voor ontleding van deze stof.
