Description
English: Ovid Wellford Smith grave historical marker at Green Lawn Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio, in the United States. During the American Civil War, Smith enlisted at age 16 without his parents' consent. He participted in the Andrews Raid, also known as the Great Locomotive Chase, in 1862. He was captured and imprisoned, but escaped. He and the rest of the soldiers who participated in the raid were given the Medal of Honor.
