| Object history | Der Balkenschild mit dem Rautenkranz ist das Wappen des historischen Stadtherrn, des Herzogs von Sachsen-Lauenburg. Der Fischotter versinnbildlicht als redendes Wappen den Ortsnamen. Das Stadtwappen geht auf das Bild in den Siegeln zurück, die nach der Stadtrechtsverleihung 1400 einsetzen.
