English: The Ossian Sweet House, a Michigan historical landmark, where in 1925 Dr. Ossian Sweet, his wife Gladys and others defended the home against a racist mob. The resulting shooting left one white person dead and a trial that gained national attention. The trial set a precedent allowing African Americans to defend their homes against attack.
