Summary

Description
English: Left: the oldest known image of Kapel ter Ruste in Deerlijk, Belgium. It represents the legend linked to the establishment of the chapel and shows Mary in a tree. The similarity between this statue and the one shown right, of Mare de Deu de la Serra in Montblanc (Spain) is striking. The comparison between the legend in Deerlijk, in which horses were involved, is also striking with the one in Montblanc, where oxen were involved.
