Description
English: Recently discovered (by an Italian archaeological team from the Sapienza University of Rome) f1, Parthian inscription, stone from the Paikuli Tower of the Sassanian king Narseh. It is flanked by 2 other inscribed stone blocks. Note the holes on the surfaces; these were for joining the stones. C. 293 CE. From the Paikuli Tower of Narseh, near Barkal Village, Sulaymaniyah Governorate, Iraq. Sulaymaniyah Museum, Iraq. This image was taken in 2015 while the stones were in storage; they have been on display within the Paikuli Gallery since June 2019.
