DescriptionOld service road, St David's airfield - geograph.org.uk - 1064048.jpg
English: Old service road, St David's airfield All the built structures on the airfield have been removed but the runways and roads remain, providing easy public access (even for wheelchairs) to a wild and windswept swathe of rough ground. Heathland birds, in particular larks and fieldfares, have returned in large numbers since the area was reclaimed. Even on a winter day, with no birdsong, you find impressive land- and skyscapes here.
This service road linked the main airfield to the bomb depot beyond the northern perimeter.
