Description
English:
In Thailand, a royal command (พระบรมราชโองการ, Phra Boromma Ratcha Ongkan) is a directive of the King of Thailand. The Seal of the Royal Command is used on the heading of King-related documents.
There are two Seals of the Royal Command: one consisted of Khmer scripts, stating "ព្រះបរម្មរាជឱង្ការ" (พฺระบรมฺมราชโองฺการ, royal command), and was in use until 1940; the other consists of Thai scripts, stating "พระบรมราชโองการ" (royal command), in lieu of the said Khmer scripts, and has been used from 1940 until now. Please note that, in olden times, Khmer scripts were considered sacred characters in Thai tradition, but this belief might have been changed due to several conflicts between Thailand and Cambodia.
For example, one may see the Seal of the Royal Command on the heading of this Consumer Protection Act (No. 3), BE 2556 (2013), which has been published in the Government Gazette on 18 March 2013.
One may also find further information at The Royal Emblems and the Positional Seals (in Thai).
