Description
English: Begur is a town near the modern Bangalore city in the Karnataka state, India. The inscription is partly a hero stone (virgal) which refers itself to the rule of Western Ganga dynasty king Ereyappa and to the period between 908 and 938 AD. It records the death of a hero in battle at Tumbepadi. The inscription is in the old Kannada script and language.
