English: Cuticular hydrocarbon biosynthesis in specialized cell, the oenocytes which are mainly present in the epidermis or dispersed within the fat body cell depending on the insect species and developmental stage. After the biosynthesis, CHCs are transported to the epicuticular surface via pore canals penetrating the cuticular layers.
