English: The VISSR instrument onboard the GOES 7 satellite captured this visible image of Hurricane Octave southwest of the Baja California Peninsula on September 12, 1989. Octave had maximum sustained winds of 125 mph (205 km/h), and its minimum central pressure was 950 millibars.
