O'Kelly's Irish Pub was opened in February 2008, and was part of a $500 package of capital expansion to the base to support the detention of the Guantanamo captives.

"COMING FEBRUARY 2008: The brand new O'Kelly's Irish Pub will soon open to the public as the premier all hands bar on base. Newly remodeled to include a true rustic Irish pub experience, O'Kelly's will be home to a wide variety of liquors and a brand new eight tap keg system that will be home to Guinness, Blue Moon, and Harp beer, just to name a few. The comfortable lounge chairs set in front of the fireplace and booths will rapidly become the choice spot to grab a quick bite to eat and watch a game on the multiple flat screen satellite televisions. Dart boards, great music and the outdoor patio will provide entertainment to patrons. Poker tournaments, Guitar Hero tournaments and Wednesday night karaoke are highlights that are guaranteed to please. The pub can also be used as meeting place for clubs and organizations that are searching for an easy-going setting to conduct their business. O'Kelly's will be open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 1700 hrs - 2200 hrs, Wednesday 1700 hrs - 2400 hrs, Friday 1700 hrs - 0200 hrs, Saturday 1200 hrs - 0200 hrs and Sunday 1200 hrs - 2100 hrs.
