English: This pathway focuses particularly on dCK's role in converting deoxycytidine (dC) into deoxycytidine monophosphate (dCMP) and how the salvage pathway eventually forms the nucleotide deoxycytidine triphosphate (dCTP). dCTP is then incorporated into DNA by DNA polymerase.
