English: Nourojee Jamsetjee Wadia (1774-1860), son of Jamsetjee Bomanjee Wadia (1756-1821) , Parsi master shipbuilders.

Ca. 1830. By an unidentified artist, J. Dorman (?), possibly a relation of J.J. Dorman who exhibited two oil paintings at the Royal Academy in 1855 and 1857.

In the portrait he holds plans of HMS Asia; and wears an embroidered pashmina shawl, it was customary for ship-builders to be given shawls by the representatives of the East India Company at the launching of a new ship. He was of the famous Lowjee family of Parsi shipbuilders active in Bombay from the early 19th century.
