Summary

Description

An early evening tram waits at Arnoldplatz. Nordhausen had an attractive fleet of yellow DDR made cars. This was a side route to Altentor along which the tram depot lay. The Tramway celebrated its centenary in 2000 The main north-south route was served by equally attractive articulated cars in a similar GDR style. These single cars were double ended, and could operated without a turning circle. One of these trams has been preserved by the undertaking, Stadtwerke Nordhausen..... shown here in the same livery with centenary celebration graphics. home.arcor.de/heuer.c/gothawagen/staedte/nordhausen/nordh... Unfortunately, No 46 did not survive. This T57 Gotha car from 1959 arrived in Nordhausen from Gera. It was withdrawn in 1992 and spent some time as a school bisto before being scrapped.
