English: The oldest flag of the Slovak territory. Consists of the double cross in the red field. It is currently a part of the coat of arms of the Nitra city in the Slovakia. The origin of the flag comes from the 13th century, as a part of the Nitra's seal and also from the coin of the Gejza I. who was the prince of the Nitra Principality. The origin of this coin goes back to the times around the year 970. There is a possibility that this may be the flag of this principality.
Slovenčina: Ide o kópiu historicky prvej zástavy slovenského územia, ktorá pozostáva z dvojkríža v červenom poli a v súčasnosti je súčasťou erbu mesta Nitra. Pôvod zástavy siaha do 13. storočia ako súčasť pečate mesta Nitra a do roku približne 970, kde je na minci Nitrianskeho kniežaťa Gejzu I. vyobrazená ruka držiaca túto zástavu. Keďže bol Gejza nitrianskym údelným kniežaťom, je možné, že ide o pôvodnú zástavu Nitrianska. |
