Summary edit

This cantilever suspension bridge was pre-fabricated in England in 1883 and first used in Canada to cross the Fraser River on the Canadian Pacific main line at Cisco, BC. It became known as the Cisco Bridge. It was replaced by a heavier bridge c1910. The dismantled original cantilever bridge was then re-erected at Niagara Creek Canyon, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada. It remains in use more than 125 years after its original construction.
