Summary

Description

The old Bellingham Herald Building keeps rejuvenating. Sporting a new sign that can change colors. Fireworks were shot off the roof of the building to welcome another year of new students at Western Washington University. Blue letters for Western's Viking blue. Not knowing about this celebration, I saw fireworks as I was biking back to downtown from somewhere. Lots of fireworks, or is something on fire? I eventually saw it was from roof of the Herald Building. Here is a video. One of my friends, who has worked in the building many years and seen it kind of neglected, or aging at least commented that new life is coming to the old building. Herald Building was built in 1926.

Building is now owned by a local developer rather than the Bellingham Herald newspaper. The newspaper rents offices upstairs in the building. It's mostly on line and the paper edition is printed in Mount Vernon.
