On October 8, 1922 The Cleveland Plain Dealer, in a 4-page Sweetest Day Section published an article written by New York City's Commissioner of Health Royal S. Copeland telling Clevelanders to "Eat Candy as a Part of Your Daily Meal and Enjoy the Best of Health."
