Description
English: 32ft cutter RMG N16628

A cutter is made fast to a boat boom alongside HMS Queen Elizabeth Battleship (1913); a sailor is aboard the boat as boatkeeper. The photo was probably taken in Scapa Flow, by Francis Curzon, 5th Earl Howe.

The 32ft cutter moored to the starboard boat boom of HMS Queen Elizabeth (1913), with a sailor on boat duty at the stern. This photograph was taken from the level of the upper deck, probably just adjacent to the foremost 6-inch casemate. Of the three armoured cruisers in the background, the one on the extreme left cannot be identified but may be a member of the Warrior class. Close by it is a ship of the Monmouth class and to the right is a ship of the Devonshire class.
