English: Detail on the 1773 reproduction of the Lienzo de Tlaxcala, a work originally made in the mid 16th century, that depicts the moment the Spanish captain Hernán Cortés, general captain of the Spanish troops that entered Mexico in 1519, was captured by Mexica forces during the Battle of Colhuacatonco, in the late stages of the Siege of Tenochtitlan during the Spanish Conquest of Mexico, in 1521.
