Description
English: The flag of the Prince of Moldavia Stephen the Great. In the middle of it is Saint George slaying the dragon. This flag was donated by the ruler, in 1500, to the "Saint George" Zograf Monastery, from Mount Athos, and returned to Romania in 1917. The flag was in the collection of the National Military Museum in Bucharest until 1975, when it was transferred to the National Museum of Romanian History. [1]
Română: Drapelul voievodului Moldovei Ștefan cel Mare. În mijlocul lui se află Sfântul Gheorghe ucigând balaurul. Acest steag a fost donat de domnitor, în 1500, Mănăstirii „Sf. Gheorghe” Zografu, de la Muntele Athos și a fost returnat României în 1917. Steagul s-a aflat în colecția Muzeului Militar Național din București până în 1975, când a fost transferat la Muzeul Național de Istorie a României.

Therefore this image is assumed to be in the public domain worldwide, although some of the above categories may be subject to usage restrictions within Romania.
