MOAC "Mother of all Curves", läuft, wie gesagt, außen drum herum.

This time/temperature curve runs around the outside of all internationally known high temperature curves. For use in tunnels as well as facilities that process hydrocarbons, there are different international curves. The one curve with the highest temperature, is the Dutch RWS, created as a result of the Eureka Project Eurotun, Dr. Ekkehard Richter, TU Braunschweig. However, the two German RABT curves, as well as the French hydrocarbon curves edge out RWS in spots, whereby they defeat RWS for short periods of time. MOAC "Mother of all Curves", as indicated, runs around the outside of all of the other curves. Presuming that the furnaces are identically instrumented, or, presuming agreement concerning furnace instrumentation, when testing to MOAC, one covers EVERYTHING ELSE. The biggest topic in terms of furnace thermocouples is whether, as is mandatory in North America, the thermocouples are inserted into Inconel tubes. However, it is not possible to hit RWS or MOAC quickly enough with shielded thermocouples. One must, therefore, use fast response, open furnace thermocouples, otherwise the whole thing does not work. On the other hand, this curve is so severe that the added stress on test samples as a result of the use of shielded thermocouples is negated.
