| Description |
English: "Moscow Metro," a 45 x 61.5 cm. oil painting, is based on a photograph I took on the escalator heading out of the Moscow Metro in 1978. I liked that the figures coming down were all blurred out while the people on the adjacent escalator going up were motionless. I painted it in 1980 while living in Paris where I would ride the (less impressive) Paris Metro nearly every day. Unfortunately, both me and the painting are crinkling a bit with age. The license only applies to this low resolution version.
Русский: "Московский метрополитен", 45 х 61,5 см. Картина маслом основана на фотографии, которую я сделал на эскалаторе, выходящем из московского метро в 1978 году. Мне понравилось, что все фигуры, которые падали вниз, были размыты, а люди на соседнем поднимающемся эскалаторе были неподвижны. Я нарисовал его в 1980 году, когда жил в Париже, где почти каждый день ездил на (менее впечатляющем) парижском метро. К сожалению, и я, и картина немного морщатся с возрастом. Лицензия распространяется только на эту версию с низким разрешением.
Français : "Métro de Moscou", 45 x 61,5 cm. la peinture à l'huile, est basée sur une photo que j'ai prise sur l'escalier roulant en direction du métro de Moscou en 1978. J'ai aimé le fait que les chiffres qui tombaient étaient flous tandis que les personnes de l'escalier roulant adjacent montaient immobiles. Je l'ai peint en 1980 alors que je vivais à Paris, où je roulais presque tous les jours dans le métro (moins impressionnant). Malheureusement, le tableau et moi-même crispons un peu avec l'âge. La licence ne s'applique qu'à cette version basse résolution. |
