Summary

Description Se comenzó a construir en el año 786 sobre una basílica visigoda anterior. Se amplió y reformó en sucesivas ocasiones durante el Emirato y el Califato de Córdoba. Midió más de 23000 metros cuadrados, lo que la convirtió en la segunda mezquita del mundo, tras la Mezquita de La Meca. En el siglo XIII se produjo la reconquista cristiana de Córdoba y se convirtió en la catedral de la diócesis.
