English: A sketch of Maurice Conradi with a Swiss policeman. The caption reads: "CONRADI. From a sketch made shortly after the murder." Conradi, a Russian White, assassinated Vatslav Vorovsky, delegate of the new Bolshevik government on 10 May 1923 at the Lausanne Conference. He plead not guilty, and the trial became an international sensation in which the Russian Revolution itself was the defendant. He was acquitted by a Geneva jury, with the arrest sketch printed in The Daily Herald on 17 November 1923. Headlines included: "Acquittal of Conradi", "Amazing Verdict of Swiss Jury", and "Natural Sequel to one-sided Trial".
