Description
Español: La obra representa el martirio de la virgen Santa Catalina de Alejandría, que murió por profesar el cristianismo, y la mártir aparece desnuda y arrodillada entre las dos ruedas dentadas que rompen tres ángeles. A la izquierda aparecen el juez y sus servidores, mientras que los cuatro verdugos se hallan heridos. Se aprecia una ciudad y, en la lejanía, más edificios. Obra de gran expresionismo, se ha pensado que pueda ser obra de Francisco Gallego, hermano de Fernando y colaborador habitual suyo (Texto extractado de Catálogo de las pinturas, Museo del Prado, Madrid, 1996. Pág. 120).
