Description
This portrait is greatly influenced by Leonardo da Vinci and may be by one of the artist recorded in his Milanese workshop in the 1490s. The identification of the sitter is traditional. The scroll records that he is 20 years old. The cryptic monogram, apparently composed of the letters AMPRF, has been taken to mean AM(brosius) Pr(eda) Fecit - Ambrogio de Predis made this, but has been opposed because of Predis different style, National Gallery, London
