Summary

Description

UPDATE: Traded this kit for another Bronica SQ-A with AE prism, 50/3.5S lens, 150/3.5S lens and 80/2.8S lens and 120 back.

Turned out I didn't like the format that much (LOLympus 4turds, anyone?).

But since I get at least 10 hits per week from Google, here's more info for you bokehtards up-comers:

The 1.9 lens is sharp wide open. Rendering of the OoF areas and especially highlights is too much nervous for my taste. However, the subject separation from the background with this lens on this format was worth the few rolls of film, so I bet lots of you who end up buying it will be happy.

The camera itself has most of the features well thought-out and designed, it's a real pity it ain't 6x6 taker. Seriously, one of the best medium format cameras I owned/used, and I used most of them available on second hand market.

I even used P6 lenses on this camera, the metering was fine and reliable (though you have to use lenses in stop down mode) however - I found it to be sacrilegious. Seriously, Sonnar 180/2.8 on any format smaller than 6x6? No can do.

Here's rest of the stuff I wrote when I bought this beauty couple of years ago:

Well, I never...

Remember my obsession with shallow DoF? Remember how I recently got hooked on medium format? Well, I never really thought I'd go for Mamiya, but I just couldn't resist this beauty... This is the fastest you can go with medium format lenses. Mamiya 645 1000s, Sekor C 80mm F/1.9, Sekor 45mm F/2.8 - with them looking so fresh so clean I know I'm not going to be sorry for the rest of the month eating out of the garbage cans and quitting smoking. The other good thing besides the whole kit is in mint condition and fully operating is that these Mamiyas take Pentacon Six lenses with the proper adapter mounted, so there's gonna be a lot of fun with cross breeding those two horses! :-)

Taken with Nikon D80 and Nikkor 28mm F/2.0 AI-s, SB80dx and lots of bouncing... I'm not quite satisfied how these turned out but that'll teach me lesson to invest more in lights and less in cameras ;)
