Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Date of Shahadat: 12 September 1965 Nishan e Haider

The Rouge of the Face of Shahadat, the Adornment for the Country and the Nation, The Valiant, and the Conqueror, and the Striker of the Sword, and the Praiseworthy of the Combat, The one who has been victorious in the struggle for the cause of ALLAH, Is lying here in the Delight of the Afterlife Dream!!! Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed is the first recipient of Sword of Honour and Norman Medal from 1st PMA Long Course. An outstanding officer throughout his military career and eventually the recipient of the Highest Gallantry Award of Pakistan Army the “Nishan e Haider” during 1965 India Pakistan War.

During the war, Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed, as a Company Commander in the Burki area of the Lahore sector stayed with his forward platoon under constant artillery and tank attacks for five days and nights in the defence of the strategic Bambanwali Ravi Bedian Link Canal. He led his men from the front and placed himself at an elevated position to better observe and direct the fire from his company. In doing so, he got exposed to the enemy and was hit by a tank shell in the chest and embraced martyrdom on 12 September 1965. He was buried in the courtyard of his ancestral house, The Haveli of Master Muhammad Abdullah Bhatti, in village Ladian near Gujrat.
