Summary

Description
English: Maiolica dish, diameter=24,5 cm, produced in Lodi, Italy, Antonio Ferretti factory, about 1775, piccolo fuoco firing (overglaze decoration), with a blue mark on the back, indicating the Ferretti factory manufacture.

It represents an oriental looking fisherman, with a pony tail. On the right, a rock with a flower and other plants. The Ferretti factory produced a large number of similar dishes with oriental characters, most of them are in the Castello Sforzesco Museum in Milan (Felice Ferrari, La ceramica di Lodi, Azzano San Paolo, Bolis Edizioni, 2003, page 332).

Pictures of the same dish are also published in: Felice Ferrari, La ceramica di Lodi, Azzano San Paolo, Bolis Edizioni, 2003, page 333. Catalogo Mostra Maioliche Lodigiane del Settecento nelle collezioni private, organised by FAI Lodi, Electa, 1995, number 231.

Rappresenta un pescatore orientale, con codino. Sulla destra, da una roccia spuntano un fiore e delle piante.
