DescriptionMUNI 1160 Market OB L Sep19 82smcrx - Flickr - drewj1946.jpg
San Francisco Muni PCC streetcar 1160 outbound on Market Street on the J-line, late at night on September 19, 1982, which, at the time, was the final day of service for PCC cars in San Francisco and of streetcar operation on the surface of Market Street. In summer 1983, however, the first San Francisco Historic Trolley Festival returned streetcar service to the surface of Market Street – in the form of the F-line (but only part-time) – with a variety of cars, including two PCCs, and in 1995 many more PCCs (mostly ex-Philadelphia cars, not previously in service in S.F.) began service on Market Street, as the F-line became a regular, all-day service.

removed watermark at top right. No other changes made, and dimensions remain unchanged; I do not know why my photo app reduces the overall size, but any effect of that appears not to be discernible
