English: Leigh Village Sign On Leigh High Street, on the edge of the large village green. Erected in 1951. In the background is the War Memorial on Powder Mill Lane. The deer on the sign refers to Leigh Place (a former deer park). Also on the sign is an old stone bridge, lychgate and a cricketer. Note, Leigh is pronounced Lie (as in untruth).
