Lead papal bulla of Alexander VI
Description
English: Papal bulla of Alexander III. Lead disc with cast detail on both sides and pierced for attachment. Side 1:- Heads of St Peter and St Paul are surrounded by a beaded border with remains of inscription SPA SPE. The piercing runs between the P and A and there is a crease across SPE. Side 2:- ALEX ANDER PP [?I]II surrounded by a beaded border. The D and III (?) are slightly obscured (possibly a casting flaw).
