Pic by KAS. Shown is the lead cam that controls the movement of the turret slide. Each lobe controls both the approach to the work as well as the feedrate relative to a pre-determined spindle speed for each of the six turret tools.

This is a 542 series Brown & Sharpe automatic screw machine, available in the "00" capacity (1/4" and 1/2") and the #2 Capacity (3/4", 1 1/4" and 1 1/2).
