This image was acquired by Landsat 7's Enhanced Thematic Mapper plus (ETM+) sensor on March 31, 2001. This is a true-color image made using red, green, and blue wavelengths (ETM+ bands 3, 2, and 1). The image has also been pan-sharpened to heighten the details and resolution.
The NASA website hosts a large number of images from the Soviet/Russian space agency, and other non-American space agencies. These are not necessarily in the public domain.
The SOHO (ESA & NASA) joint project implies that all materials created by its probe are copyrighted and require permission for commercial non-educational use. [2]
